Alec Ward currently serves as the Senior Director of Regulatory Affairs at the Solar Energy Industries Association, a position held since September 2024. Prior to this role, Alec was the Principal Legislative Manager and Associate Policy Manager at Ava Community Energy from November 2021 to September 2024. Previous experience includes serving as a Senior Analyst for Solar and Storage Energy Policy at the California Public Utilities Commission, and as a Policy Associate for Lands at The Nature Conservancy. Alec's early career involved various roles including finance and constituent outreach for Christina Hartman for U.S. Congress, partnerships fellow at Climate Action Campaign, and press assistant for U.S. Senator Mark Warner. Alec's educational background includes a Master of Science in Environmental Science and Policy from Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor of Arts in the Distinguished History Program with a minor in American Government from the University of Virginia.

East Bay Community Energy (EBCE), is the local public electricity supplier in Alameda County and in the City of Tracy. EBCE is providing clean, green energy at low rates to our 635,000 customers. EBCE reinvests earnings back into the community to create local green energy jobs, local programs, and clean power projects. EBCE member cities include Albany, Berkeley, Dublin, Emeryville, Fremont, Hayward, Livermore, Newark, Oakland, Piedmont, Pleasanton, San Leandro, Stockton, Tracy, and Union City. The unincorporated areas of Alameda County (including Ashland, Castro Valley, Cherryland, Fairview, San Lorenzo, and Sunol) are also served by EBCE.
