Vegetation Ecologist at east bay regional park district

Barbara Camacho Garcia is a seasoned Vegetation Ecologist currently working at East Bay Regional Park District since March 2024, focusing on noxious weed management within the Integrated Pest Management Program. Previously, Barbara served as Project Lead at Grassroots Ecology, overseeing salt marsh restoration projects and engaging with community partners, and as a Restoration Specialist, conducting habitat restoration and educational outreach. Additional experience includes roles at Justice Outside as a participant in the Rising Leaders Fellowship, Resource Conservationist and Project Assistant at Alameda County Resource Conservation District, and various positions in vegetation management and conservation across multiple organizations. Barbara holds a Bachelor of Science in Forestry & Natural Resources from the University of California, Berkeley, complemented by a study abroad program in Tropical & Conservation Biology at the Monteverde Institute.
