Michael Ferreira is an experienced educator currently serving as a 5th Grade Special Education Teacher at East Harlem Scholars Academies since August 2016. In this role, Michael teaches math in an integrated co-taught setting, leads anti-racism workshops, manages Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and facilitates IEP meetings. Prior experience includes positions at The Cheshire Horse as a Sales Associate and Buyer, a Kindergarten Paraprofessional at SAU 60 School District, a Teaching Assistant at the University of Vermont, and a Career Assistant in the University’s Career Services. Michael holds a BA in English from the University of Vermont, earned in 2012.
