William French Jr.

William French has extensive experience in public administration and community development, serving as the Executive Director and previously Deputy Director at the NYC Department of Transportation since July 2016. In addition to this role, William has been a Trustee on the Board of Directors for the East Harlem Tutorial Program since June 2010. Previous positions include Administrative Manager - Director of Lease Enforcement and Administrative City Planner - Director for the NYC Human Resources Administration from 2008 to 2016, and Administrative Housing Development Specialist - Director of LIHTC and Home Compliance Programs at the NYC Department of Housing Preservation and Development from 2005 to 2008. William's career began as a Communications Specialist with the US Army's 24th Military Intelligence Battalion from 1996 to 1999. Academic credentials include a Master of Public Administration with a focus on Program Analysis & Evaluation and Housing & Community Development from Baruch College, an Associate of Arts and Sciences from Borough of Manhattan Community College, and a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Creative Writing from The City College of New York.
