Joe Settles

Joe Settles has extensive experience in the field of environmental management and member services, currently serving as the Manager of Member Services at East Kentucky Power Cooperative since April 1999. In this role, Joe Settles oversees the Member Services Business Unit, focusing on marketing, economic development, and communications while ensuring the needs of the Cooperative and its member systems are met. Previously, Joe Settles served as Supervisor of Natural Resources, managing the team responsible for environmental communications and consulting on environmental permitting. Early in the career, Joe Settles worked as a biologist conducting endangered species surveys and managing environmental education initiatives. Prior to this, Joe Settles ran Settles Environmental Consulting, Inc., offering environmental services. Joe Settles holds a Master’s degree in Plant and Soils Science from the University of Kentucky and Bachelor’s degrees in Agriculture and Wildlife Management from Eastern Kentucky University.
