Vivian Chan

Co-founder at East Meets Dress

Vivian Chan has a diverse work experience. In 2019, they co-founded East Meets Dress, a company on a mission to create cheongsam dresses inspired by the unique experiences of being Asian Americans. From 2017 to 2019, they worked at Leap.ai as a Customer Success Manager, where their mission is to deeply understand each person and enable their career growth and success by combining machine learning with human intelligence. From 2015 to 2017, they worked at Girls Who Code (GWC) as a Community Partner Manager and Site Manager, where they managed 100 Girls Who Code Clubs across the Bay Area and supervised monthly operations of after-school and/or weekend community Clubs at all sites. From 2014 to 2015, they were a Science Teacher at Helms Middle School, teaching 7th and 8th grade science and health to 150 students. In 2013, they were a Fulbright Research Fellow, conducting a 10-month independent research project looking at mental health issues among high school students. In 2012, they were a Study Abroad Student at the International Honors Program, living abroad in Brazil, Vietnam, and rural South Africa with host families for 4 weeks each. In 2011, they were an Undergraduate Researcher at Handelsman's Microbiology Lab, studying the relationship between host gut microbiota and obesity in Drosophila (fruit flies).

Vivian Chan attended Yale University from 2009 to 2013, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology.
