East Penn School District
Shelly Haddad is a dedicated special education professional with extensive experience in supporting students with autism and other behavioral challenges. Currently serving as an Autistic Support Teacher at East Penn School District since October 2019, Shelly previously worked as a Special Education Teacher at Allentown School District from December 2014 to October 2019 and as a Behavioral Support Worker at Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit from March 2013 to December 2014. Shelly holds a Master of Education (MEd) from DeSales University, completed in 2019, along with a Special Education Certification for grades PK-8 obtained in 2014 and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Elementary Education earned in 2012.

The East Penn School District is located in the Lehigh Valley’s metropolitan area which has a total population of a half million people. With proximity to New York City, Philadelphia, the Pocono Mountains and the New Jersey shore, East Penn is an ideal location that is experiencing residential and business growth. The East Penn staff consists of approximately 565 professional and 505 support members, with 90% of the teachers holding a master’s degree or beyond. In addition to attending many workshops and conferences each year, every professional employee participates in various workshops and training activities through the Employee Development Program to enhance their particular skills. Members of our professional staff are resource persons for state, national and international conferences, adjunct college professors and published writers and researchers.
