Dustin Kaban's work experience began with a role as a Programmer at Blackbird Interactive Inc. from March 2011 to October 2012. There, they worked on tool development and assisted both the programming and design teams.
From October 2012 to June 2016, Dustin worked at Eleventh Level Interactive as the Founder and Game Programmer. Dustin developed mobile applications for iOS and Android devices, overseeing a team of 10 people and released various game projects.
In September 2016, Dustin co-founded Alakaban Ventures Inc., where they served as the Co-Founder and Programmer until February 2020. Dustin primarily worked on developing the website for a tea subscription service system, as well as conducting heatmap testing and A/B testing for SEO purposes.
Starting in June 2021, Dustin worked at Voodoo.io as a Unity Developer. Dustin provided support to game teams, assisting with debugging, problem-solving, and establishing coding standards. Additionally, they helped develop universal tools and game features for internal and external game studios.
In December 2022, Dustin joined East Side Games as a Solutions Engineer. In this role, they worked with partners to create games using an internal SDK, coordinating between various disciplines to find solutions to technical challenges.
Currently, Dustin is working at The Galileo Project as a Software Engineer, starting in April 2023. Dustin is part of the Computing Team, focusing on UAP detection challenges and helping with project management tasks.
Dustin Kaban is currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science at Thompson Rivers University, starting in 2020. Previously, in 2019, they attended the British Columbia Institute of Technology for a short-term course in Financial Management. Before that, Dustin obtained a Diploma in Game Design from the Vancouver Film School in 2010-2011 and another Diploma in Foundation Visual Arts & Design from the same institute in 2009-2010. Additionally, they completed an Applied Degree in Computer Systems Technology at NAIT (Northern Alberta Institute of Technology) from 2007 to 2008.
Dustin also holds several certifications. In May 2021, they obtained a C# (Basic) Certificate from HackerRank. In January 2021, they received a Google Cloud Platform Fundamentals: Core Infrastructure certification from Coursera | Google. Prior to that, in October 2020, they achieved a Problem Solving (Basic) Certificate from HackerRank, and in May 2020, they gained a Java (Basic) Certificate, also from HackerRank.
