John Marinakis has a diverse work experience in the animation industry. John started their career as a Clean-Up Artist at Bardel Entertainment in 2002 and then worked as a Compositor at Mercury Filmworks in 2003. John also worked as an Assistant Animator and Compositor at Facelift Enterprises Inc. from 2003 to 2004.
In 2004, John became an Instructor at The Art Institute of Vancouver, where they taught until 2007. During this time, they also worked as a BG Supervisor and Flash Animator at DHX Media from 2005 to 2006.
From 2006 to 2007, John held the position of Storyboard Revisionist at DHX Media. John then worked as a Flash Animator and Storyboard Revisionist at DHX Media from 2007 to 2008.
In 2008, they joined Atomic Cartoons as a Storyboard Artist for a few months before transitioning to Monkey Paw Media Inc. as a Flash Animator. Later in the same year, they worked as a Storyboard Artist at Big Bad Boo Studios for a few months.
In 2010, John became a Flash Animator at ToonZone Studios from October 2010 to May 2011. John then joined East Side Games as an Art Director, where they currently hold a position.
John Marinakis has a diverse education history that includes certificates and degrees in various fields of study. In 1989, they obtained an Ontario Secondary School Diploma with a major in Visual Arts from the Etobicoke School of the Arts. John then pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree with an Art History major from Carleton University, which they completed in 1996. Subsequently, they attended the Vancouver Film School from 1997 to 1998, where they earned a Certificate in Classical Animation. In 2000, they furthered their education by obtaining a Certificate in Digital Animation from Capilano University. Additionally, they hold additional certifications in Classical Animation and Digital Animation from Capilano University. The specific completion dates for these additional certifications are not provided.
