Aaron Young

Aaron Young is a seasoned professional in urban and regional planning, currently serving as Sustainability Planning Manager at the East-West Gateway Council of Governments since October 2010. In this role, Aaron manages the Regional Plan for Sustainable Development funded by the Sustainable Communities Initiative. Prior experience includes positions as a Sustainability Planner and GIS Planner at the same organization, where responsibilities encompassed regional development scenario creation and public engagement facilitation. Prior to this, Aaron worked at Woolpert, Inc. contributing to various municipal plans and community participation efforts. Experience also includes roles as a Community Planner at Bucher, Willis & Ratliff Corporation and a Sales and Service Representative at Ken Young Food Distributors. Aaron's early career involved volunteering with the Peace Corps, focusing on small business education. Educational qualifications include a Master's Degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Illinois State University.
