Rajan Shah

Director Of Human Rights Programs at East-West Management Institute

Rajan Shah has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Rajan started their career as a Financial Advisor/Supervisor at TD in 1993 and later became a Senior Editor/Business Editor at The University of British Columbia. In 2000, they transitioned into the legal field, working as a Barrister and Solicitor for various organizations. From 2003 to 2005, they served as a Technical Advisor at Uganda Law Society. Rajan then joined East-West Management Institute in 2005, where they held the positions of Deputy Chief of Party and Access to Justice Advisor until 2010. During this time, they contributed to legal and judicial reform initiatives in Cambodia. From 2010 to 2014, Rajan worked as a Team Leader for Justice Initiatives Facilitation Fund at Coffey International Ltd, managing a multi-donor basket-fund in Vietnam. Rajan took a sabbatical in 2014 to spend time with their family before joining Oxfam Novib in 2016 as a Grants Coordinator for the Voice program. Currently, Rajan is the Director of Human Rights Programs at East-West Management Institute, a role they have held since October 2022.

Rajan Shah's education history starts in 1993 when they enrolled at Ryerson University and pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Business/Commerce, General. Rajan completed their degree in 1997. Following that, from 1997 to 2000, Rajan attended The University of British Columbia, where they attained a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree in Law. In 1999, they also participated in the Transatlantic Summer Academy (TASA) at The University of Bonn.

In addition to their formal education, Rajan Shah obtained certifications in their field.
