Mahdiar Rahman has extensive work experience in the banking industry, specializing in corporate banking. Mahdiar began their career at Faysal Bank Limited in 1999 as a Credit Analyst in the Corporate Banking department. Mahdiar then moved on to Shamil Bank, based in Bahrain, where they worked as a Credit Manager from 2000 to 2005. In 2005, they joined Bank Alfalah Limited as a Relationship Manager in the Corporate Banking division, and later advanced to the role of Senior Relationship Manager in 2007, a position they held until 2014. Since 2014, Mahdiar has been with Eastern Bank Limited, where they have held several leadership positions in the Corporate Banking department. Mahdiar started as the Vice President and Unit Head, and subsequently worked as the Senior Vice President and Head of the Relationship Unit. In 2018, they were promoted to Executive Vice President and Head of Relationship Unit, and as of 2021, they hold the position of Senior Executive Vice President and Head of Relationship Unit at Eastern Bank Limited.
Mahdiar Rahman completed their MBA in Finance from the University of Dhaka from 2002 to 2004. Prior to that, they obtained a BBA in Marketing from North South University, where they studied from 1994 to 1998. In addition to their degrees, Mahdiar has also obtained several certifications in various financial areas, such as commercial credit, financing inclusive and sustainable development, international banking and trade, credit skills assessment, and environmental risk management. These certifications were obtained between 2005 and 2020 from institutions such as Moody's Analytics, The London Institute of Banking & Finance MENA, Zürcher Kantonalbank, Omega Performance, and others.
