Amy Hassey has a diverse work experience in the field of regulatory compliance and mortgage examinations. Amy started their career at a multi-state mortgage company in 2003, where they served as a Compliance/Funding Manager. In this role, they ensured compliance with state and federal laws, performed audits on closed loans, and managed relationships with attorneys and title companies.
In 2007, Amy joined the Massachusetts Division of Banks as a Bank Examiner. Amy conducted comprehensive reviews of licensee compliance and organized examination reports. Amy also provided guidance to peers and made recommendations to Chief Directors.
Amy was promoted to Assistant Chief Director in 2009, where they supervised the Consumer Assistance Unit and resolved consumer complaints and inquiries. Amy also investigated problematic areas within regulated institutions.
In 2012, Amy became the Chief Director of Mortgage Examinations, overseeing the Mortgage Supervision Unit. Amy reviewed and analyzed examination work papers, ensuring accurate and well-supported findings. Amy also conducted comprehensive reviews of regulated financial entities.
After their tenure at the Massachusetts Division of Banks, Amy worked as a Regulatory Compliance Specialist at MassHousing in 2015, where they ensured compliance with regulations.
Currently, Amy serves as the Vice President Senior Mortgage Compliance Officer at Eastern Bank, a position they have held since 2016.
Amy Hassey has an Executive Education Certificate from Harvard Kennedy School. Amy also holds a Bachelor's degree in Finance, General from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.
