T.J. Steele has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. T.J. is currently the VP, Digital Channels Solutions Manager at Eastern Bank, a position they have held since February 2022. In this role, they are responsible for managing digital product management and collaborating with fintech partners to improve customer experience and drive growth.
Prior to their current position, Steele held the role of VP, Senior Product Manager, Digital Banking at Eastern Bank from November 2019. During their tenure, they built a digital product management foundry, partnered with fintechs to implement a new deposit account opening platform, and collaborated with various teams to improve customer journeys and automation capabilities.
Steele also has experience in academia, serving as an Adjunct Instructor of Digital Product Design and Development at Brandeis University since June 2021.
Before joining Eastern Bank, Steele spent several years at Fifth Third Bank, where they held multiple positions. T.J. was the VP, Director, Digital Technology Product Management from June 2015 to November 2019, overseeing strategic roadmap planning, execution of IT initiatives, and managing a team of 20+ members. Prior to this role, they were the Senior Manager, Digital Product Management – Consumer Banking from June 2008 to May 2015, responsible for planning and executing roadmaps for consumer-facing digital channels.
Steele also had brief stints at Fintech71 as a Mentor from May 2017 to October 2017, and at Atos Origin as a Senior Consultant / Delivery Management from March 2006 to June 2008, where they managed solution delivery for business process management and architecture mapping.
Earlier in their career, Steele worked at Fifth Third Bank as a Business Analyst, Project Manager & Release Manager from August 2003 to March 2006, where they were responsible for website initiatives and platform upgrades. T.J. also worked at Arthur Andersen Business Consulting as an Information Technology Consultant / Technology Integration Services from September 1999 to August 2002, leading technology initiatives in various industries.
Steele began their career at Sybase, where they had two internships as a Product Management Intern from May 1998 to August 1998, and as an Intern from May 1997 to January 1998.
T.J. Steele earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Information Systems from Boston College between the years 1995 and 1999.
