Waheed Swales

Waheed Swales has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Waheed'smost recent position is with the Eastern Cape Development Corporation, where they serve as the Head of Fund Management and Resource Allocation. Prior to this, they co-founded Sithela Capital and served as the Key Individual. Waheed also worked at Index Solutions SA, where they held multiple roles, including Independent Key Individual, Chief Executive Officer, and Portfolio Manager. Before joining Index Solutions, Waheed worked at HANNOVER REINSURANCE GROUP AFRICA as an Investment Operations Analyst. Waheed also gained experience at Alexforbes as an Investment Administrator and Actuarial Analyst/Fund Analyst. Waheed'searliest role was at Liberty Group South Africa, where they worked as a Terminations Administrator.

Waheed Swales completed their education in a chronological manner. Waheed started their higher education journey in 2007 at the University of the Witwatersrand, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Actuarial Science & Statistics. Waheed completed this program in 2010.

In the following year, from 2010 to 2011, Waheed continued their studies at the University of Johannesburg, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science Honours (BSc Honours) degree in Mathematical Statistics.

From 2011 to 2012, they furthered their education at the University of Johannesburg, obtaining a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Mathematical Statistics with a specialization in Financial Mathematics.

Lastly, from 2015 to 2017, Waheed pursued a Bachelor of Commerce Honours (BCom Honours) degree in Econometrics at the University of Johannesburg.

In addition to their formal education, Waheed Swales also obtained various certifications. In November 2019, they obtained the FAIS - RE5 certification from the Moonstone Business School of Excellence. In December 2019, they achieved the Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) certification from the Society of Actuaries. In January 2020, they obtained the FAIS - RE 1 and FAIS - RE 3 certifications from the Moonstone Business School of Excellence.
