Software Team Member at Eastern Edge Robotics

Léo Gilbert's work experience includes being a Software Team Member at Eastern Edge Robotics since March 2022. Prior to that, Léo worked as a Lifeguard and Swimming Instructor at The Works - Aquarena starting in September 2019. Léo also had a role as a Robotics Student at Wood from January 2023 to April 2023. Additionally, Léo worked as a Junior IT Technician at Memorial University of Newfoundland from May 2022 to August 2022, and as a Green Team Member at Conservation Corps Newfoundland And Labrador from June 2021 to August 2021.

Léo Gilbert completed their high school education at Holy Heart of Mary Regional High School from 2017 to 2020, earning a High School Diploma. Following this, they enrolled at Memorial University of Newfoundland in 2020 and is expected to graduate in 2026 with a Bachelor of Computer Engineering (Co-op) degree, specializing in Computer Engineering.

In addition to their academic pursuits, Léo has obtained several certifications. In 2022, they completed the Onshape Fundamentals: CAD certification offered by Onshape, a PTC Technology. Léo also acquired a WHIMIS certification from Memorial University of Newfoundland in 2020. Further, Léo has received training in Standard First Aid, CPR, and AED, as well as becoming a certified National Lifesaving Society Lifeguard through the Lifesaving Society Canada in 2021.

Eastern Edge Robotics

Eastern Edge Robotics designs and manufactures ROVs (Remotely Operated Vehicles) yearly to compete in the International MATE ROV Competition. Last year Eastern Edge placed 3rd overall and won 1st place for engineering presentation at the International MATE ROV Competition! This year the competition will be held in Longmont, Colorado.
