Peter Mellow has over 30 years of experience in the field of education and learning design. Peter'smost recent role was as the Director of Learning and Teaching in the Learning and Teaching Directorate at Eastern Health, where they are currently employed. Prior to this, they worked at the University of Melbourne as a Learning Design Coordinator, where they focused on creating effective online learning experiences and spearheaded projects to advance online teaching and learning. Before that, Peter served as an elearning Advisor/Lecturer at Curtin University, where they assisted staff in transitioning their teaching methods to the online environment. Peter also worked as a Senior Lecturer/Flexible Learning Advisor at the Auckland University of Technology for over two decades. Peter has also held various committee and board positions, including serving as an Executive Committee Member at the Ako Aotearoa Academy of Tertiary Teaching Excellence, a Board Member at Albany Primary School, and a Board Member and Website Manager at Marist North Harbour Rugby Club. In 2004, Peter was selected as a Flexible Learning Leader in New Zealand and received a professional development grant to enhance their skills in flexible learning.
Peter Mellow earned a Master of Educational Leadership degree from Auckland University of Technology in the years 2007 to 2009. Prior to that, they obtained a Post Grad Diploma in Teacher Education (Tertiary) from AIT (Auckland Institute of Technology) from 1997 to 1998. Additionally, they completed a PG Cert eEd in Education from Waikato University in 2003 to 2004. In 2012, Peter obtained a certification in Foundations of Learning and Teaching from Curtin University.
