Sean MacKay

Sean Mackay is a seasoned surgeon with extensive expertise in HPB and upper GIT surgery, bariatric surgery, advanced laparoscopic surgery, and therapeutic endoscopy. Since 2002, Sean has practiced in a private capacity at Eastern Epworth Hospital in Box Hill, Melbourne, while also serving as a VMO surgeon at Eastern Health and taking part in general surgical on-call duties. In addition to surgical practice, Sean provides medicolegal and governance commentary on clinical cases, co-founded PodMD to create informative medical podcasts for practitioners, and holds the position of Adjunct Senior Lecturer at Monash University, mentoring general surgical trainees in their academic pursuits. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Medicine from Imperial College London, FRACS in General Surgery from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, and a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Melbourne.
