Creating a society that values an equitable and dignified future for all.

The Eastern Social Development Foundation (ESDF) is a women- and rights-based organization with over 15 years of experience working to advance human rights, gender equality, good governance, peacebuilding, and inclusive economic growth. We are committed to empowering disadvantaged women and marginalized communities to exercise their fundamental rights and actively participate in shaping sustainable development.

Our work focuses on strengthening women’s leadership, promoting social cohesion, enhancing livelihood opportunities, and improving access to justice and accountable governance. Through community-driven and evidence-based approaches, ESDF designs and implements programs that respond to the lived realities of the communities we serve.

We integrate strong monitoring, evaluation, and learning systems into our work to ensure accountability, measurable impact, and continuous improvement. By centering dignity, inclusion, and sustainability, ESDF contributes to building resilient communities and advancing equitable development across Sri Lanka.

ESDF remains dedicated to creating transformative change that upholds human rights and ensures a just and inclusive future for all.
