Staff Accountant

Eastern Staffing & Recruiting is proud to be recruiting for a Staff Accountant for our client in Broome County, NY. We are looking for a candidate who has experience working in an accounting firm, tax accountant experience, or a combination of both. A successful candidate must have the ability to work with confidential and sensitive information. Responsibilities Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and understanding of property lease agreements. Prepare journal entries, monthly account reconciliations, and postings to the general ledger. Prepare, review, and analyze timely and accurate monthly financial statements. Provide support for year-end financials. File sales tax. Composes and type routine correspondence using word processing and email software. Handles highly sensitive information in a professional and confidential manner. Assists in identifying opportunities for process improvement and greater efficiency. Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications Associates degree in Accounting, or related field. Two to three years of accounting and tax preparation experience. Two years of experience working within QuickBooks. Proficient in Microsoft Suite. MS Office and English proficiency. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to switch between tasks and prioritize daily workload. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Discretion and confidentiality. QuickBooks desktop proficient. High attention to detail. This position may require a drug screen and/or background check.
