Valerie Heneghan is an experienced Speech Language Pathologist with a Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Northern Illinois University. Since August 2014, Valerie has been providing pediatric outpatient services at Easter Seals DuPage & Fox Valley, demonstrating advanced expertise in fluency disorders, pediatric feeding disorders, augmentative and assistive technology, and speech sound disorders. As the Director of Speech-Language, Feeding, and Assistive Technology, Valerie expanded the therapy staff from 9 to 20, managed department budgets, and enhanced clinical training and education while transitioning to teletherapy during the pandemic. Prior experience includes a hospital-based position at Northwestern Medicine focusing on adult dysphagia and cognitive language impairments, as well as a school-based role at Community Unit School District 300, where Valerie specialized in communication skills for children with various needs. Early clinical experience includes multiple rotations at esteemed institutions during graduate studies.
