John E. Travis

John E. Travis is the Vice President at EastGroup Properties. John has previously worked as the Vice President at Goddard Investment Group and as a Senior Real Estate Analyst at BB&T Real Estate Funding.

At Goddard Investment Group, John was responsible for investing in value-add office properties in major markets across the Sunbelt. John was with the company from July 2012 to July 2020.

Before Goddard Investment Group, John was with BB&T Real Estate Funding from January 2006 to December 2011. As a Senior Real Estate Analyst, they underwrote nonrecourse, interim bridge loans ranging from $5 million to $50 million for value-add acquisitions, construction projects and redevelopment plans for apartment, office, retail and industrial deals nationwide. In total, they underwrote over $300 million in closed commercial real estate loans. John also maintained a $400 million bridge loan portfolio through direct relationships with mortgage bankers, developers, and institutional equity investors.

John E. Travis has a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from Emory University - Goizueta Business School and a degree in Business Administration from Rhodes College.
