Spyridon Smeros

Spyridon Smeros has a diverse work experience in legal and compliance roles. Spyridon started their career in 2010 as a Legal Intern at the Ministry of National Defence. From 2010 to 2011, they worked as an Associate at Zoe Konstantopoulou - an independent law firm. In 2012, they joined Deloitte Luxembourg as a Consultant in Regulatory Consulting, where they worked until 2015. Spyridon then moved on to OFI Asset Management, where they held the positions of Legal and Compliance Officer and Distribution Compliance Specialist from 2015 to 2017. Currently, they are working at Eastspring Investments, starting in 2018, in the Legal, Governance, and Distribution Compliance department. Spyridon'sresponsibilities include sales team oversight, drafting policies, providing legal and compliance support for sales and marketing projects, fund and marketing regulation oversight, and review and negotiation of contracts.

Spyridon Smeros earned a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) between 2004 and 2009. The degree included studies in Civil Law, Criminal Law, EU Law, Civil and Criminal procedure. Later, they obtained a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree in European and International Banking and Financial Law, with a specialization in Collective Investment Schemes, from the University of Luxembourg in 2011 and 2012.
