Devops Network Engineer at Eaton Vance

David Joy has a strong background in network engineering and DevOps. David started their career in 2013 as a Network Engineer at General Dynamics Mission Systems. In this role, they gained valuable experience in network engineering.

In 2016, David joined MIT Lincoln Laboratory as a Linux System Administrator. David was responsible for maintaining RedHat systems with maximum STIG compliance. David also played a crucial role in automating the enterprise by writing Ansible playbooks and configuring a Gitlab server.

Currently, David is working at Eaton Vance as a DevOps Network Engineer. David'sresponsibilities include automating software updates and configuration changes for routers and switches using Ansible. David has successfully standardized the configurations of 250+ Cisco routers and switches using automation tools. David also manages support contracts and hardware replacements by tracking hardware models and serial numbers.

Throughout their career, David has demonstrated their expertise in network design, configuration, and administration. David has successfully designed and managed networks spanning multiple sites. David has also implemented security measures such as ACLs and QoS policies to ensure network integrity. Additionally, David has experience with multicast traffic and IGMP snooping.

David'sstrong technical skills, including familiarity with Cisco routers, switches, and other hardware, as well as Ansible and automation tools, make him a valuable asset in the field of network engineering and DevOps.

David Joy completed their Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst from 2010 to 2014. Before attending university, they attended Silver Lake Regional High School from 2006 to 2010, but did not obtain a degree or study a specific field there.

In addition to their formal education, David has obtained various certifications. These include the Cisco Wireless LAN Design Specialist certification from Cisco in May 2022, the Silver Peak SD-WAN Professional certification from Silver Peak in December 2021, the CompTIA Linux+ certification from CompTIA in July 2020, and the CompTIA Security+ certification from CompTIA in June 2020. David also holds several Cisco certifications, including the Cisco Certified Network Associate Security (CCNA) certification obtained in May 2016, the Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification obtained in February 2016, the Cisco Certified Network Associate Routing and Switching (CCNA) certification obtained in May 2015, and the Cisco Certified Network Professional Routing and Switching (CCNP-RS) certification obtained in May 2015.
