Kyla Westphal

Kyla Westphal has a diverse and impressive work experience. Kyla is currently working as the Vice President External Affairs at Ebb Carbon since April 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Westphal Communications as a freelance marketing consultant since January 2014. From March 2016 to April 2023, they served as the Climate tech marketing lead at X, the moonshot factory. Some of their notable accomplishments during this role include leading go-to-market strategy and storytelling for X's ocean health moonshot and launching the world's first drone delivery service in Australia. Before that, Kyla was a Content marketing manager at Choose Energy from October 2014 to January 2016. Kyla also worked as a Media director at MissionCtrl from August 2013 to December 2013, where they handled content strategy, creation, and social media and community management. From June 2010 to July 2013, they served as the Manager, utility partnerships at 3Degrees, where they managed marketing strategies for voluntary green power programs. Prior to this, they worked as a Freelance Marketing Research & Strategy Consultant, specializing in the cleantech industry. Kyla has also served as a Fellow at the Eesti-Eurasian Public Service Fellowship, Columbia University, where they chronicled the peace and constitutional process in Nepal. Kyla has also worked at the Office of U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer in various roles, including Deputy State Scheduler and Assistant Field Representative, where they handled event planning, communications, outreach, and scheduling tasks.

Kyla Westphal received a B.A. in International Relations and Italian from the University of Southern California, where they studied from 1999 to 2003. Kyla went on to pursue a Master's in International Affairs (M.I.A.) with a focus on Urban and Energy Policy at Columbia | SIPA from 2006 to 2008.
