Cath Brooksbank has extensive work experience in the field of bioinformatics and research. From 1998 to 2000, they worked as a Managing Editor at Elsevier Science. Then, from 2000 to 2002, they served as an Editor at Nature Publishing Group, specifically in the area of Nature Reviews Cancer. In 2002, Cath joined the European Bioinformatics Institute (EMBL-EBI), where they held various roles. Firstly, they served as the Head of Outreach and Training until 2012. Since then, they have been working as the Head of Training, responsible for coordinating and organizing courses, workshops, and events to enable researchers to utilize EMBL-EBI's data resources effectively.
Cath Brooksbank pursued their education starting in 1986 at the University of Oxford, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (Honors) degree in Physiological Sciences. Following this, they attended the University of Cambridge from 1989 to 1992 to pursue a PhD in Biochemistry.
