Henriette Harmse

Henriette Harmse is a Technical Lead at the European Bioinformatics Institute (EMBL-EBI) since January 2019, bringing extensive experience in software development and architecture from roles such as System Architect at Dariel Solutions (2005 - February 2014) and Senior Developer at Discovery (2003 - 2005). Prior to their current position, Henriette completed a PhD in Data Science/Artificial Intelligence at the University of Pretoria (2015 - 2019) after earning an MSc in Mathematical Formalization of UML Class Diagrams from the University of KwaZulu-Natal (2012 - 2015) and a BSc (Hons) in Computer Science from the University of South Africa (2003 - 2011). Henriette's academic journey began with a BSc in Mathematics and Computer Science from North-West University (1991 - 1993). Additionally, Henriette contributed to software development as a Software Developer from 1996 to 2003, focusing on modular development and testing.
