Thomas Payne is an experienced professional in the field of bioinformatics and metabolomics, currently serving as a Curator for MetaboLights at the European Bioinformatics Institute (EMBL-EBI) since August 2021. Previously, Thomas worked as a Research Associate at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln from August 2018 to August 2020 and completed a PhD at Imperial College London in the Department of Surgery and Cancer, focusing on novel biomarkers of renal transplant failure and dysfunction via spectroscopic phenotyping. Additional experience includes serving as a researcher for the Centre for Health Policy and participating in the Metabolomics Society's Strategy Task Group and EMN Committee. Thomas's earlier roles also involved editorial work with the Future Science Group, where responsibilities included commissioning for Bioanalysis and the Bioanalysis Zone. Thomas holds both an MSc and a BSc in Biopharmaceuticals and Pharmacology from King's College London.
