Steve Peter

Steve Peter is a highly experienced mechanical engineer with a strong background in research and development. Currently serving as a Staff R&D Engineer at EBR Systems, Inc. since November 2025, Steve previously held the position of Staff Mechanical Engineer at Carbon from August 2019 to November 2025, leading technical projects on the M3 and M3 Max AO Backpacks. Earlier roles include Senior Mechanical Engineer at Carbon, where responsibilities included overseeing the service door subassembly for advanced 3D printers, as well as Senior R&D Engineer positions at Smith+Nephew and Ceterix Orthopaedics. Steve's engineering career began at Medtronic and includes academic contributions as a Graduate Student Instructor at the University of California, Berkeley, and research work at Virginia Tech. Steve holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech.
