Shane Bateman

Shane Bateman's work experience begins with an internship as a Junior Cyber Security Consultant at Across Verticals Sdn. Bhd. in 2020. During this internship, they conducted various activities such as web application penetration testing, vulnerability assessment, host assessment, and database configuration hardening. Shane also generated an automated database hardening script.

In 2021, Shane joined Tata Consultancy Services as an Associate System Engineer. Shane'smain responsibilities included developing and deploying Java microservices and utilizing the Spring Boot Framework to build a complete web application. Shane successfully developed several microservices that could communicate with each other and the database, enabling data sharing across different business functions.

Currently, Shane is working for EC-Council as an L1 SOC Analyst starting in 2022. In this role, they provide 24/7 monitoring services to clients and takes timely and accurate actions regarding security alerts without any SLA/Policy breeches. Shane also analyzes security alerts and determines the appropriate next course of action.

Shane Bateman pursued their education through a chronological series of institutions and programs. From 2012 to 2016, they attended SMK Cochrane and obtained a Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia. Then, from 2017 to 2019, they enrolled in the Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation (APU / APIIT) for a Diploma in Information Technology with a specialization in Software Engineering. Following this, they continued their studies at APU / APIIT from 2019 to 2021, completing a Bachelor of Science in Cyber Security. Additionally, in January 2021, Shane obtained a Cybersecurity Fundamentals Certificate from ISACA.
