René Matzen

René Matzen is the Group Vice President of Data & AI at ECCO Shoes, having previously served as the Group Senior Director and Head of Data & AI. With a robust academic background, René earned multiple degrees, including a Ph.D. in Mechanical and Computer Engineering from the Technical University of Denmark. Prior to their current role, René held various positions including Lead Data Scientist at ECCO Advanced Analytics and Senior Analyst at KRM AG, where they specialized in market research and machine learning. René also has experience in academia as an Assistant Teacher at the Technical University of Denmark and a Visiting Research Fellow at the University of Colorado at Boulder.
