Brian Holloway

Chief Science Advisor at Ecellix

Brian Holloway has worked in a variety of roles since 1998. Brian started as an Assistant Professor at William & Mary, and then became an Associate Professor and Arts and Sciences Distinguished Associate Professor. In 2006, they took on the role of Director of the Nanomaterials Group at Luna Innovations Incorporated. In 2009, they became a Program Manager for the Defense Science Office at DARPA. In 2013, they were hired as Associate Director of the Office of Naval Research Global for the US Navy. In 2015, they were both a Visiting Scholar at the University of Cambridge and Chief Technology Officer at the Advanced Technology Lab for Lockheed Martin. In 2018, they became Chief Science Advisor for Ecellix Inc. In 2020, they were hired as a Member of the Board of Managers for Carillon Technologies. Finally, in 2021, they were hired as a Member of the Board of Managers for Alcedo Systems and Vice President and Head of the Deep Science Fund for Intellectual Ventures.

Brian Holloway received their Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Florida. Brian then went on to pursue a PhD in Mechanical Eng and Mat. Sci from Stanford University, which they completed in 1997.
