P.eng Simon Akit

Simon Akit, P.Eng has extensive work experience in the finance and energy industries. Simon is currently serving as the Head of Institutional Sales & Trading at Echelon Capital Markets since September 2020. Before that, they worked at Canaccord Genuity- Global Capital Markets, where they held the positions of Managing Director - Global Head of Energy Sales from September 2017 to June 2020 and Managing Director - Generalist Sales from January 2008 to September 2017.

In addition to their finance roles, Simon also served on the board of directors for Saturn Oil + Gas Inc. and Salida Energy from 2018 to 2020. Simon also held a board member position on the Financial Services Advisory Board at the University of Toronto - Rotman School of Management from 2013 to 2019.
