Sydney Andersen has a diverse work experience beginning in 2014. Sydney has worked as a Swim Team Coach and Swim Lesson Instructor for the St. Charles Park District, a Lifeguard for the Norris Recreation Center, a Manufacturing Engineering Intern for Leviton, a Summer Research Student for the National Radio Astronomy Observatory, a Research Assistant, Science Associate, and Lifeguard for Swarthmore College, an Engineering Intern for Echodyne Corp, a Radar Systems Engineer for Honeywell Aerospace, and an Antenna Engineer for Echodyne.

At St. Charles Park District, Andersen was commended by supervisors for their positive and professional attitude. At Leviton, they coordinated a project to implement employee skill-tracking software and update procedures for the assembly of fiber optic and copper cable. At the National Radio Astronomy Observatory, they conducted experiments via observations on the Very Large Array (VLA) to improve antenna efficiency, and processed holography data to determine individual panel misalignments. At Swarthmore College, they conducted exoplanet confirmation research with KELT survey data via transit detection, set up observations on telescope, and processed and analyzed data independently using AstroImageJ. At Echodyne Corp, they were responsible for firmware regression testing of an electronically-steered radar. At Honeywell Aerospace, they acted as part of a multi-disciplinary team that developed weather detection radar avionics products. At Echodyne, they are supporting the company's efforts to deliver advanced radar solutions that increase safety and save lives.

Sydney Andersen attended St. Charles East High School from 2009 to 2014. Sydney then went on to Swarthmore College, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and Astrophysics.
