Christine Nieves

Christine Nieves is an accomplished climate activist and community leader with extensive experience in fostering resilience against climate change, particularly in marginalized communities. As a 2020 Climate Fellow at Echoing Green, Christine has developed community-driven initiatives that utilize storytelling to promote sustainable practices. Co-founding Emerge Puerto Rico, Christine focuses on innovation and imagination to combat climate challenges. Additionally, Christine's roles include Co-Director at Proyecto de Apoyo Mutuo Mariana, where efforts have transitioned from immediate crisis response to long-term community development, and Bridge Fellow at TNTP, facilitating youth-led solutions post-Hurricane Maria. Recognized with the Catalyst Award from Rachel's Network, Christine continues to empower women of color and cultivate social change through various endeavors, bolstered by a strong academic background in social policy and communication from prestigious institutions such as the University of Oxford and the University of Pennsylvania.
