Joseph Edell

Joseph Edell is a seasoned attorney specializing in intellectual property law with a robust background in both litigation and patent examination. Currently serving as Senior Corporate Counsel at EchoStar Corporation since February 2023, Joseph manages intellectual property matters and supports new business initiatives. Prior experience includes working as an Intellectual Property Attorney at Fisch Sigler LLP from 2016 to February 2023, where responsibilities encompassed district court litigations, post-grant proceedings, and notable oral arguments before the Federal Circuit and PTAB. At Kirkland & Ellis LLP (2010-2016), Joseph represented clients across various intellectual property litigation phases, and earlier experience at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (2001-2010) involved significant responsibilities as a Primary Examiner. Joseph holds a J.D. in Intellectual Property Law from The George Washington University Law School and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology.
