Phil has over 10 years of investment experience serving in client acquisition, client servicing and investment management roles. He has extensive experience helping nonprofit clients with their asset allocation, portfolio construction, investment policy statement, and accounting. At eCIO, Phil works closely with our nonprofit clients as an Investment Advisor creating customized portfolios based on their goals, portfolio needs, ESG restrictions and risk tolerance. He is also eCIO's Chief Compliance Officer and is a member of the Investment Committee.
Prior to eCIO, Phil was a key driver in the creation and success of the Outsourced Chief Investment Officer (OCIO) practice at Madison Investments focused on serving larger nonprofit organizations. He also worked closely with investment teams at Wells Capital Management creating strategy language for large client acquisitions. Phil's entrepreneurial experience started at an early age since his family-owned and operated one of the most successful restaurant businesses in Michigan.
Phil is also actively involved in the nonprofit community in Madison: he is a board member of Family Service Madison and a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP). He graduated from Concordia University Wisconsin with a B.S. in Actuarial Science and a B.S. in Finance. Phil has earned the CIPM designation from the CFA Institute and is FINRA registered.
