Senior Electronic Technologist Product Developer at ecobee

John Russomanno C.E.T has had extensive work experience in the field of electronics and engineering. John started their career as a Technical Representative at Unitel Communications in 1988, and then worked as an Electrical Apprentice at Delta Electric in 1989. John then joined Digital Security Controls Ltd in 1990 as a Design Engineer, where they specialized in troubleshooting hardware, software development, and embedded programming. John worked there until 2003, during which time they also served as a Senior Software Engineer at Tyco Fire & Security.

In 2003, John became an Electronic Engineering Technologist at Insight Avionics Corporation, where they focused on troubleshooting and repairing hardware, and preparing prototypes for testing. John then joined EESGI in 2004 as a Senior Product Developer, where they specialized in troubleshooting hardware, building prototypes, and preparing hardware for product approvals.

In 2011, John joined EE Systems Group Inc as the Manager of New Product Development. In this role, they managed a group of software engineers, oversaw new product development, and traveled to meet with manufacturers, contract manufacturers, and customers in North America and abroad. John worked at EE Systems Group Inc until 2015.

Most recently, John has been working at ecobee since 2016 as a Senior Electronic Technologist/Product Developer.

John Russomanno C.E.T. completed their education at two different institutions. From 1981 to 1986, they attended Woburn C.I., where they received an Honors standing. During their time there, they studied electronics, math, and electrical subjects. Following this, from 1986 to 1988, John pursued their Bachelor's Degree in Electronic Engineering Technician TechnologistElectronics, Electrical Dynamics, and Programming at the Radio College of Canada.
