Anton Menkveld

Anton Menkveld has a diverse work experience that spans several industries and roles. Anton started their career at Thales (previously African Defence Systems) as a Software Engineer in 1998. Anton then joined Nokia, a worldwide market leader in the mobile phone industry, where they worked as a Software Engineer and gained extensive training and exposure to cutting-edge software design and development in the mobile phone and telecommunication fields.

In 2001, Anton founded Jessop Industrial Machinery, a company that provides custom-designed electromechanical machinery for the manufacturing industry. During their time at Jessop, they focused on designing and programming industrial automation systems, gaining valuable experience in technology-driven efficiencies and productivity.

In 2009, Anton joined Ecanet Engineers as a Senior Control System Engineer, then proceeded to establish their own company, Designer Life Technologies, in 2013. Designer Life Technologies allowed Anton to contribute to projects aligned with their purpose, while developing and utilizing their skills.

In 2014, Anton joined Ecocentric Energy, initially serving as the Chief Technology Officer. At Ecocentric Energy, they played a crucial role in the development of their product named Numen, a data acquisition and processing platform focusing on energy productivity and reducing carbon footprint. Later on, their role transitioned to Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), where they primarily focused on market engagement and being the main interface between customers and the technical teams.

Throughout their career, Anton has demonstrated expertise in various technical and business areas such as custom electronic hardware development, internet-of-things, big data acquisition, storage and processing, cloud-based data processing, artificial intelligence, machine learning, API and back-end development techniques, as well as business development, marketing, and technical sales. Additionally, they have experience in capital raising, investor engagement, and managing teams for hardware and software product development.

In 2002, Anton co-founded Parallel Software (Pty) Ltd, a company that operates and develops the Placement Partner cloud-based recruitment software system, which has become the system of choice for many recruitment companies in South Africa.
