Luc Bergeron

Professeur HES Honoraire at ECAL University of Art and Design Lausanne

Luc Bergeron is an accomplished industrial and product designer with extensive experience in the field since 1980. Luc Bergeron Design has been the primary venture since 1991, complemented by a long-standing role as a Professor HES at ECAL University of Art and Design Lausanne since 1984, where Luc Bergeron also holds the title of Honorary Professor. Additionally, Luc served as Co-creator and Co-responsible for the Master Innokick program at HES-SO Haute école spécialisée de Suisse occidentale from 2015 to 2019. Earlier design roles include positions at Claude Dupraz Luc Bergeron SA, Luc Bergeron Design industriel, Artopex inc., and Morelli, Savage et Associés. Luc holds a Master's degree in industrial design from ECAL and a Bachelor's degree from Université de Montréal, along with earlier studies at Université Laval.

ECAL University of Art and Design Lausanne

Enjoying international renown and featuring regularly among the world’s top ten universities of art and design, ECAL is directed by Alexis Georgacopoulos. The school currently offers six Bachelor programmes (Fine Arts, Cinema, Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Media & Interaction Design, Photography), five Master programmes (Fine Arts, Film, Photography, Product Design, Type Design) and two Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) in Design for Luxury & Craftsmanship and in Design Research for Digital Innovation (with EPFL+ECAL Lab). ECAL also offers a one-year Foundation Course to prepare students for entrance to the different Bachelor’s programmes. ECAL has grown consistently in terms of student numbers (600 at the beginning of the 2018–2019 academic year) and above all its presence on the international scene. Its influence in Europe and throughout the world is reflected by numerous press articles, regular mentions in specialist and large-circulation publications, and an enviable number of exhibitions in prestigious venues such as Centre Culturel Suisse (Paris), Centre Pompidou (Paris), Cooper Union (New York), Designers’ Saturday Langenthal, Design Days Dubai, Design Parade (Hyères), Design September Brussels, documenta (Kassel), Droog Design Gallery (Amsterdam), Gallery Libby Sellers (London), National Institute of Design Ahmedabad, Salone internazionale del Mobile (Milan), swissnex, Victoria & Albert Museum (London), Vitra Design Museum (Weil am Rhein)… Over the years the ECAL has significantly increased the number of its collaborative projects with universities of art and design around the world and with leading firms active in a wide range of sectors like Alessi, Audemars Piguet, Baccarat, Bernardaud, BMW Group, Christofle, Galeries Lafayette, Hansgrohe Axor, Hermès, Hublot, IKEA, Mauviel, Luceplan, Nestlé, Nespresso, Petit h, Pierre Hardy, Punkt., Rémy Martin, Swiss, USM, Vacheron Constantin...
