Karina Jouravleva is an experienced researcher and educator with a strong background in molecular biology and biochemistry. Currently serving as a Team Leader at École normale supérieure de Lyon, Karina has held various academic roles, including Instructor and Postdoctoral Associate at UMass Chan Medical School, where the focus was on the mechanisms of microRNA (miRNA) regulation and their role in mRNA turnover. Prior to this, Karina contributed as a teaching associate and assistant at Université Pierre et Marie Curie, covering a range of topics in molecular biology, biochemistry, and genetics. Karina's doctoral research at Institut Curie investigated telomere instability and its connection to cancer progression, while earlier studies at The University of Tokyo and École normale supérieure examined genetic roles in plant development and mitochondrial RNA translation, respectively. Karina holds a Ph.D. in Biology and a Master’s Degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology from Pierre and Marie Curie University.
