Luc Ria

Luc Ria serves as the Directeur de l’Institut Français de l’Éducation at École normale supérieure de Lyon, focusing on bridging research and practice in education. Ria holds the UNESCO Chair for Training Teachers in the 21st Century, emphasizing dialogue among researchers, trainers, teachers, and policymakers, with a recent renewal for an additional four-year cycle. Ria's experience includes the design of professional development spaces for teachers through UNESCO, leading initiatives to enhance education in priority areas, and co-founding platforms for video training in higher education and primary education. Ria has also held various roles in UNESCO, including serving as President of the international jury for the UNESCO-Hamdan bin Rashid Al-Maktoum Prize. Ria holds an Habilitation à diriger des recherches (HDR) from Université Clermont Auvergne in the study of human sciences.
