Teresa Mourad

Teresa Mourad is the Director of Education and Diversity Programs at the Ecological Society of America, a position held since 2007, where responsibilities include overall management of education programs, supervision of the department, development of new initiatives, and grantwriting. Previously, Teresa served as the Chief Operations Officer at the North American Association for Environmental Education from 2003 to 2007 and as the Executive Director of the Environmental Education Council of Ohio from 1996 to 2003. Earlier in Teresa's career, work as the Asian Coordinator for the International Young Christian Students Movement involved organizing faith-based leadership development programs and coordinating regional activities in Asia. Teresa holds a Master of Science in Environmental Education from The Ohio State University and dual Bachelor's degrees in English Literature and Sociology, as well as a Bachelor of Social Science in Sociology from the National University of Singapore.

Ecological Society of America

The Ecological Society of America is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization of scientists founded in 1915 to promote ecological science by improving communication among ecologists; raise the public’s level of awareness of the importance of ecological science; increase the resources available for the conduct of ecological science; and ensure the appropriate use of ecological science in environmental decision making by enhancing communication between the ecological community and policy-makers. The 9,000 member Society publishes 6 journals, convenes an annual scientific conference, and broadly shares ecological information through policy and media outreach and education initiatives.
