Richard Stevenson has a diverse work experience in the field of scientific research and development. Richard started their career as a Summer Intern in the Analytical Department at Quay Pharma in 2013. In 2014, they worked as a Summer Intern in the QC Laboratory at Charles Wells Brewery, where they were responsible for quality control and monitoring industrial waste levels.
From 2015 to 2019, Richard worked at The University of Manchester, initially as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, where they supervised undergraduate chemistry experiments and assessed students' understanding. Richard also conducted research as a PhD Researcher and PhD Student in Nanoscience, with a focus on synthesizing small organic molecules and studying graphene and 2D materials.
In 2018, Richard had a Winter Secondment at Malvern Panalytical, where they gained experience in nanoparticle tracking analysis and developed skills in technical writing and statistical analysis.
Since 2020, Richard has been working at M&I Materials Limited as a Senior Scientist. In this role, they have been responsible for research, innovation, and troubleshooting in the areas of greases, lubricants, and tungsten heavy alloys. Richard has also project managed R&D work in sustainable manufacturing, lubricant design, and metallic additive manufacturing.
In 2023, Richard joined Econic Technologies Ltd as a Senior Scientist, where they continue to contribute their expertise in research and development.
Richard Stevenson completed their secondary education at Cardinal Newman Sixth Form in Luton from 2009 to 2011. Richard then pursued their bachelor's degree in Chemistry at the University of Bristol, graduating in 2015 with an MSci. Following this, Richard Stevenson enrolled at The University of Manchester in 2015 and completed their PhD in Chemistry in 2019.
