Mauricio Pereira

Mauricio Pereira is an experienced researcher and academic with a focus on environmental performance and sustainability, particularly in the mining sector. Since April 2009, Pereira has been a researcher at ECLAC, participating in OECD-CEPAL missions to evaluate environmental performance in Chile and Peru, and collaborating on international assessments of natural disasters related to extreme weather events. Concurrently, Pereira served as an invited academic professor at Universidad de Chile from January 2010 to October 2023, teaching various subjects related to public policy and project evaluation. Pereira also held a teaching position at Universidad Andrés Bello from 2013 to 2016, specializing in the economics of natural resources and the environment. Pereira's academic background includes a Master's degree in applied economics and a degree in civil industrial engineering, both from Universidad de Chile.
