Geert Naulaerts

Geert Naulaerts has a diverse work experience. Starting in 2010, they worked as an Aerodynamics, Structural Design, and Production Engineer for the Punch Powertrain Solar Team, where they designed and built a solar-powered race car for an endurance race in Australia. From 2012-2015, Geert served as a Consultant for the team, coaching and providing guidance to the new members.

In 2012, Geert also worked as a Project Engineer at Skytanking, handling the HSSE audit at Brussels Airport. Geert then joined Camco Technologies in 2013, initially as an Account Manager and later as an International Project Engineer/Manager. At Camco Technologies, they oversaw the implementation of OCR technology and software systems for marine and railway terminals worldwide. Notably, they successfully managed the design, installation, and commissioning of a custom Traingate system in Hamburg.

Since 2018, Geert has been working at Ecorus. Geert'sroles at Ecorus include Project Engineer/Manager, where they are responsible for managing the design and construction of large solar power plants, and Project Leader. Throughout their career, Geert has gained substantial experience in the renewable energy and terminal automation industries.

In addition to their professional experience, Geert was involved in the organizing and management of LAN parties and computer events as a Crew Member at FatLAN VZW. Geert also served as a Praesidium Member at Industria VZW, responsible for text book sales and organization of activities for engineering students.

Geert Naulaerts completed their education with a Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering - Elektromechanics from KU Leuven, which they pursued from 2007 to 2012. Prior to that, they attended Wico Campus St. Hubertus, Neerpelt for their high school education from 2000 to 2006, specializing in Mathematics - Science.

In addition to their formal education, Geert also obtained various certifications. These include EWP under 11m from Pinnacle Safety and Training in March 2016, CPCCOHS1001A Work Safely in the Construction Industry (White Card) from White Card Course Online Australia OHSA in June 2014, Veiligheid voor operationeel leidinggevenden VCA from Vinçotte in July 2013, and Werken met zelfrijdende hoogwerker (IS005) from the International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) in March 2014. Geert also holds certifications in Rescert (Renewable Energy Systems Certification) from Energie-Academy and Solar Specialist from Switch2Solar, although the specific dates of obtaining these certifications are unknown.
