Melvin Akinyi is a Carbon Project Developer at Ecosecurities since September 2022. Previously, Melvin served as a Project Assistant at Drylands Transform, where research focused on the connections between land health, livestock-based livelihoods, human well-being, and land management and governance in the Kenya-Uganda border region. Prior experience includes working as a GIS Enumerator at Esri Eastern Africa, involved in mapping petroleum stations in Kenya for safety and regulatory compliance under the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority, commissioned by the World Bank. Melvin holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Geography and Environmental Studies from the University of Nairobi, completed in 2018.
