Erika Houtz

Director, Contaminant Destruction Technologies at ECT2 (Emerging Compounds Treatment Technologies, Inc.)

Erika Houtz is an accomplished professional in environmental engineering with extensive experience in contaminant treatment and analysis. Since December 2021, Erika serves as the Director of Contaminant Destruction Technologies at ECT2, leading R&D initiatives to advance treatment systems. Previously, Erika held the position of Senior Environmental Engineer and PFAS Analytical Lead at Arcadis from February 2016 to December 2021, specializing in site investigations and remediation of organic contaminants, particularly PFAS. Prior roles include Research Scientist at the California Department of Toxic Substances Control, Project Associate at the Green Science Policy Institute, and Graduate Student Researcher at the University of California, Berkeley. Erika holds a PhD and MS in Environmental Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and a BS in Chemical Engineering from The Ohio State University.
