Michael Carter has 25 years of work experience, with their most recent role as the Director of Accreditation & Regulatory Compliance at ECU Health since May 2018. Prior to this, they worked at Vidant Health for 25 years, starting as a Registered Nurse in 1993 and progressing through various roles including Assistant Nurse Manager, Quality Improvement Specialist, Quality Nurse Specialist, and Accreditation Nurse Specialist III. In their roles, they were responsible for coordinating accreditation and regulatory compliance education programs, developing program infrastructure, assessing and monitoring improvement strategies, and providing expertise in quality initiatives.
Michael Carter has a Master's degree in Healthcare Administration from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke and a Bachelor's degree in Management & Organizational Development from the University of Mount Olive.
