Ömer Erdem

Ömer Erdem has worked in various roles in the field of cybersecurity. Ömer started their career as a Hardware Intern at Destek Bilişim Proje ve Servis Hizmetleri Ltd. Şti. in 2010. In 2011, they worked as a Software Intern at Istanbul Chamber of Commerce. From 2012 to 2016, Ömer worked as a Researcher at TUBITAK's Cyber Security Institute. Ömer then moved on to become a PhD Candidate at Istanbul Commerce University from 2016 to 2018. In 2018, Ömer joined Eczacibasi Bilisim as a Senior Cyber Security Specialist and later became the Cyber Security Platform Owner. Currently, they hold the position of Cyber Security Manager at Eczacibasi Bilisim.

Ömer Erdem's education history begins in 2004 when they attended Haydarpaşa Lisesi and studied science. From 2008 to 2012, they pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering at İstanbul Ticaret Üniversitesi. Following this, Ömer went on to earn a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Information Security Engineering from İstanbul Şehir University, where they studied from 2013 to 2016. Continuing their education, Ömer completed a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Computer Engineering at İstanbul Ticaret Üniversitesi from 2016 to 2020.

In addition to their formal education, Ömer Erdem has obtained certifications in the field of security administration and engineering. In December 2019, they earned the Guardicore Certified Security Administrator (GCSA) certification from Guardicore. During the same time, Ömer also obtained the Guardicore Certified Security Engineer (GCSE) certification.
